Appointment Book Returns to Today

Abstract

When an appointment is made, Capable 21C can automatically return the appointment book to today for further processing. However, if Capable 21C returns to today, but not to the correct time, this article may be of use.

Capable 21C uses a specific formula to determine what time to return the appointment book to. Understanding this formula can help to ensure that Capable 21C behaves as desired.

The following items are suggested:

  • Ensure that Capable 21C’s ‘Come Back to Today’ feature is enabled.
  • Review Capable 21C’s formula for determining the return time.
  • Detailed Information

    To ensure that Capable 21C’s ‘Come Back to Today’ feature is enabled:

  • Go to Setup|Settings
  • Go to the Appointment Book tab.
  • Ensure that the check box for ‘Come back to Today’ is ticked.
  • Close the Setup|Settings window.
  • The Come Back to Today feature will only activate automatically when an appointment is made whilst a receipt is being processed. This feature can also be manually activated by clicking the Seek button and choosing ‘Today’ on the menu.
  • The following formula is used by Capable 21C to determine what time to display:

  • Capable reviews the last Cash Up to determine whether it was today or yesterday. If it was yesterday, Capable starts seeking for the first appointment of the day from midnight. If it was today, Capable starts seeking for the first appointment of the day from 2 hours after the time of the Cash Up.
  • Capable captures the time of the first incomplete, non-cancelled appointment, and the time of the first break (eg Lunch Break or end of shift).
  • If the first appointment is more than half of one appointment book screen height after the first break, then Capable will locate the appointment book to show the break in the top half of the appointment book.
  • If the first appointment is less than half of one appointment book screen height after the first break, the Capable will locate the appointment book to position the first appointment roughly in the middle of the appointment book.
  • This knowledge resource is designed for use on a Windows (tm) XP system operating at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or better. Windows Media Player must be installed for this training resource to operate correctly.
